There is No Second Act in Life
Many of us are stuck in the ‘velvet rut” or just never got engaged in something we really want to do. The good news, though, is that it’s never too late to live your life the way you want.
Below is one of the best speeches I have ever heard. It’s Steve Jobs’ commencement address to the Stanford University graduating class of 2005. It’s great advice for people just beginning in life – college graduate or not. And it’s great advice for anyone unhappy with where they are in life. Below are my personal key takeaways from the speech. . .
“The only way to do great work is love what you do. If you haven’t found it, keep looking. Don’t settle.” Steve Jobs
“So remember … your time is limited; don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Follow your intuition.” Steve Jobs
I watch this video every December as I plan my coming year. In the speech, he talks about living every day as if it were your last. This is really good advice.
The speech is just 15 minutes long. If you take the time to watch it, I’m sure you’ll be inspired.
